About

I am a qualified counsellor and clinical psychotherapist who works with individuals experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression and grief as well as those affected by abuse and psychological trauma (PTSD and complex-PTSD). I have experience in both short and long-term work with adult individuals in private practise, the voluntary sector, and the NHS. I have worked for several agencies in London including over two years of counselling work with NHS patients in an IAPT service and a specialist service providing psychotherapeutic support for survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, empathic, and trauma-informed to create a safe space for your exploration. As there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach, I integrate neuroscience, cognitive work, internal family systems, psychodynamic depth work, dream work, creative techniques, and a range of body-orientated psychotherapies, to sensitively attune to you to witness and hear your story.

I have been exploring and studying personal growth since 2005 and am a graduate of the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in London - the largest training centre for transpersonal and integrative psychotherapy in the UK and member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked internationally at a senior level in publishing as a writer, editor, and creative director, having graduated with a BA in Theatre, Film & Television Studies from Bristol University.

My background is in storytelling which has been driven by a desire to understand what makes people tick. These threads of interest have woven their way through my life. I believe everyone’s story deserves to be heard. Facilitating your connection with your unfolding story can help you process your emotional responses to painful experiences in your life. Over time, this can be transformational and can nurture an emerging self-assuredness, the ability to live life fully and the beginning of a new narrative: your new story.

I hold full clinical psychotherapy membership with, and am accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapist (UKCP) - the leading professional body for the education, training, accreditation and regulation of psychotherapists in the UK. I am also an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS); and an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold liability insurance and work to the UKCP Ethical Framework for Good Practise in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I work confidentially and have the utmost respect for your emotional well-being.
